A Houston restaurant is getting worldwide attention for something many Houstonians already know: people really love ordering from Aga’s.
The Indian-Pakistani restaurant has been named the No. 1 single-location restaurant in the world for Uber Eats orders, according to 2025 data from the delivery platform.
Aga’s CEO Shaukat “Sal” Maredia told the Houston Chronicle the restaurant has held the top spot for at least three years.
The Sugar Land restaurant prepares about 2,000 to-go meals every day across delivery platforms and pickup, with takeout making up about 40% of its business.
Business Insider recently highlighted the restaurant’s massive operation, showing what it takes to keep up with demand.
Aga’s serves more than 4,000 customers a day and employs about 200 people, including nine chefs. The restaurant uses roughly 7,000 gallons of milk, 10,000 gallons of oil, and 30,000 pounds of chicken every month.
“It’s not a restaurant; it’s a food factory,” Maredia told the Houston Chronicle.
The restaurant’s takeout business grew significantly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, delivery drivers have regularly waited outside Aga’s to pick up orders, with some drivers telling Maredia they primarily deliver for the restaurant because of the volume.
Aga’s recently expanded its takeout operation with a to-go-only location in Katy. Maredia said that location is already handling about 700 orders a day, roughly twice what the restaurant initially projected.
The restaurant has become known for dishes including biryani, goat chops and chicken “lollipops.” It was also named the No. 1 restaurant in Houston by the Houston Chronicle in 2025.
Maredia said he plans to open at least five more takeout locations in the Houston area before expanding to other Texas markets and eventually nationwide.
Despite the rapid growth, Maredia said the restaurant plans to maintain the quality of its food.
“It’s not an easy thing to do because our food is not fast food; it’s gourmet. Everything is made fresh,” he told the Chronicle.
Aga’s currently has locations serving the Houston area, and customers can also order through Uber Eats.
