CAMP VERDE, AZ (AZFamily) — Two people from Phoenix are accused in a multi-state fraud scheme that involved a Tractor Supply Co. store in Camp Verde.
The Camp Verde Marshal’s Office said a man and woman used another person’s information to get a Tractor Supply credit account and buy a $4,200 Toro zero-turn mower on Aug. 10. They also allegedly rented a trailer to transport the mower and did not return it.
Investigators looked at surveillance footage and saw the suspects leaving in a dark-colored Jeep Wagoneer that was towing the rental trailer, the marshal’s office said.
Authorities used automated license plate readers to find the Jeep headed south on Interstate 17. They ran the plate of the Jeep, which was rented, and identified the suspects as Christerful Ray Bryant Jr., 36, and Fatuma Salim, 30, both of Phoenix.

The marshal’s office said video from the Tractor Supply store further connected these two suspects to the fraud incident.
Investigators found Bryant in the Valley on Aug. 21, and he was taken into custody near 19th Street and Broadway Road.
When searching Bryant’s vehicle, investigators reportedly found the Camp Verde Tractor Supply rental agreement and receipts, as well as several documents that connected him to other fraudulent transactions in Arizona and California.
Bryant was booked in Yavapai County on charges that include identity theft, fraudulent schemes, forgery and criminal impersonation.
This is still an ongoing investigation. The marshal’s office said authorities are looking for the stolen trailer and mower, while also trying to find any connected fraud cases.
