Man ejected, hospitalized after crash on North Side, police say

Crash happened early Saturday morning in the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 281 near Northeast Loop 410

SAN ANTONIO – A man was hospitalized after a crash on the North Side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

The crash happened just before 3 a.m. Saturday in the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 281 near Northeast Loop 410.

Police said the 26-year-old man was driving an Audi sedan northbound in the exit lane of Loop 410 when he attempted to switch lanes to stay on the highway. The vehicle struck an impact attenuator, causing it to flip and come to rest in one of the lanes.

The man was ejected from the vehicle and taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. His condition was later upgraded to non-life-threatening, police said.
