Grocer store brand Harris Teeter wants to put up its signs at the first Jacksonville fuel center it intends to build at 11506 Atlantic Blvd. in East Arlington.
The city is reviewing permits for three signs for “Harris Teeter Fuel” at project costs of $12,450. Prime Sign Installation LLC of Jacksonville is the contractor for the tenant installation of storefront, gas canopy and monument signage.
The city issued a permit Sept. 1 for horizontal development toward the fuel center at a project cost of $2 million.

Harris Teeter proposes five multiple-pump dispensers and a 240-square-foot kiosk to include an overhead canopy and two underground storage tanks along with additional work.
The city also is reviewing plans for construction of the fuel center at an estimated project cost of $2 million on the 1-acre site. No contractor has been identified.
It is across Atlantic Boulevard from the Atlantic North shopping center at northwest Kernan and Atlantic boulevards, where Harris Teeter is building a grocery store, its second in Florida. The other is in Fernandina Beach.

Harris Teeter, based in Matthews, North Carolina, expects to open the Jacksonville store in spring 2027.
Jacksonville-based Sleiman Enterprises owns the land for the shopping center and the fuel center.
Harris Teeter Properties LLC operates fuel centers near its supermarkets.
It will be Harris Teeter’s first new store in Jacksonville since two closed in 2004 and 2006 before The Kroger Co. bought the chain in 2014.
