SAPD: Man found dead under downtown bridge near Interstate 10

Cause of death remains under investigation, police say

Police respond after a male body was discovered under a bridge near Interstate 10 south of downtown on the evening of Sunday, Sept. 6, 2026.

SAN ANTONIO – A man was found dead Sunday evening under a bridge along Interstate 10 near downtown, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Police said they found a man lying face down just before 8 p.m. in the 1200 block of South Laredo Street.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said, and his cause of death is under investigation. Investigators said the man appeared to have been at the location for “some time.”
