2 hospitalized after shooting on North Side; Shooter flees, SAPD says

1 person is in critical condition after shooting in the 400 block of Cherry Ridge Drive

SAN ANTONIO – Two people inside a vehicle were shot — one critically injured — after someone opened fire at them on the North Side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

The shooting happened just before 7 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of Cherry Ridge Drive, near Vance Jackson Road.

SAPD said an officer driving in the area spotted the driver exit a black truck and approach him for help.

The driver was shot three times, including in the arm, chest and stomach. A passenger in the same truck was shot once in the leg, police said. Both were taken to a hospital, where the driver is in critical condition.

After being shot, police said the driver chased the shooter westbound in his truck before losing them and returning to the scene. SAPD said the victims and the shooter appear to know each other.

Police are searching for the shooter, described only as driving a red Chevy truck of unknown year.
