HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Slight ‘cooling’ is expected for the early part of the week, but temperatures will still remain in the 90s. Rain looks limited for the next few days, but the chances for showers and storms may pick up later in the week ahead of another weak ‘cold’ front.
For the Labor Day holiday, expect to see partly cloudy skies with maybe an isolated afternoon shower or storm. The temperature and humidity combination won’t be quite as bad as recent days, but we’ll still see temperatures peak in the low 90s with a heat index in the mid to upper 90s.
Look for muggy but quiet conditions tonight with lows around 70.
The short work week begins with more of the same. Highs will be in the low 90s Tuesday with just a slim rain chance, mainly out toward the Shoals.
We’ll stay in the low to mid 90s for midweek with morning temperatures in the upper 60s.
Daily shower and thunderstorm chances will start to pick up on Thursday ahead of our next cold front. Scattered rain will be with us through at the least the start of the weekend with only minimal cooling expected as highs dip back closer to 90 to end the week.
