Two Jacksonville residents are accused of setting fire to an apartment building where they lived, according to arrest warrants.

Jacksonville Police arrested 63-year-old Lolita Alston Carmichael and 56-year-old Jeffery Carmichael on Saturday, September 5. Each is charged with first-degree arson and felony conspiracy.

Arrest warrants allege the two conspired to set fire to an apartment building in the 200 block of Zack Circle. The records state people were inside the building at the time.

The Carmichaels lived in one of the building’s apartments, according to the information provided with the arrest records.

Lolita Carmichael is being held in the Onslow County Jail on a $50,000 secured bond. Jeffery Carmichael remains jailed without bond.

Both are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, September 8.
