Will Boyington – New AA NASA Office Of Communications

Janet Petro memo: I’m pleased to share that Will Boyington (@Will_Bo) has been selected as associate administrator for NASA’s Office of Communications. In this role, he will direct the agency’s internal and external communications and serve as a senior advisor to me and other executive leaders. He will guide how we communicate across NASA’s mission areas – from aeronautics and science to technology and human spaceflight – with a special focus on enhancing how we tell the story of our Moon to Mars exploration efforts.

Will brings more than 15 years of experience in strategic communications across government and industry. He most recently served as director of external communications at Blue Origin, where he led the public relations team and managed policy communications.

He previously directed communications for the National Space Council at the White House, where he led strategic communications on presidential space policy and coordinated messaging across federal agencies with space equities. Earlier in his career, he served as communications director for Congressman Dan Newhouse and as deputy press secretary for Congressman Darrell Issa on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. Will holds a bachelor’s degree in history and French from Hillsdale College.

Please join me in welcoming Will to this important role.

I also want to express my sincere thanks to Wes Brown and Michelle Jones for serving in acting roles over the past several months. Wes will return to his role as deputy associate administrator for management, and Michelle will continue serving as deputy associate administrator for communications. I’m grateful to both of them for their steady leadership, invaluable guidance, and unwavering dedication to the agency.

Embrace the Challenge,

Janet
