“Real Housewives of New York City (RHONY)” newcomer Hailey Glassman offered a glimpse into her “lavender marriage” during an interview previewing the reality TV show’s upcoming season.
Who she’s married to is a secret because the “really big” businessman is said to be concerned about jeopardizing his family’s good name.
“We’ve known each other since he was 12 years old,” the television personality, 39, said in a conversation reported on by People. “We were neighbors in Martha’s Vineyard, and we met at sailing camp.”
A Women’s Health magazine expert defines a lavender marriage as “a marriage that publicly and legally appears to be heterosexual — meaning, features two people of different genders — despite one or both partners being queer.”
Glassman didn’t offer a lot on information about her lavender marriage, other that to say she’s in one and has been for 15 years.
She said the pair is headquartered in New York City where she works as a publicist, but they get around.
“I just like living on a yacht or in the water and just hanging out and smoking joints,” Glassman added.
“RHONY” begins its 16th season Tuesday night on Bravo at 8 p.m.
Veteran cast members Erin Lichy, Jessel Taank and Sai De Silva will be joined by Glassman and two other newcomers. Reality TV watchers may recognize Glassman from her 2009 relationship with “Jon & Kate Plus 8” star Jon Gosselin.
