The Nashville Predators have signed forward Tyson Jost to a professional try-out for their 2026-27 training camp per PuckPedia. Jost spent the entirety of the 2025-26 season on the Predators lineup, playing through a one-year, two-way contract originally signed with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2025.
The Predators claimed Jost off of waivers from the Hurricanes in October 2025 and deployed him for 69 games of the 2025-26 season. Jost recorded 16 points, 30 penalty minutes, and a minus-21 in those appearances. While quiet results, those marks represented an uptick for the 28-year-old forward, who spent the 2024-25 season split between Carolina’s NHL and AHL rosters. The 2025-26 season was Jost’s first time appearing more than half of an NHL season since the 2022-23 campaign, when he scored 22 points in 59 games with the Buffalo Sabres.
Jost represents a depth piece for the Predators; a roster likely to lean on KHL signee Vitali Pinchuk to command a bottom-six role after moving out multiple players this summer. If Pinchuk, who scored 66 points in 65 KHL games last season, can’t command a role – the veteran presence of Jost could offer a reliable fallback. Jost will also face pressure from Alexander Kerfoot, Ross Colton, and top prospect Brady Martin in his pursuit for another full-time role in Nashville.
