SAN ANTONIO – The Greater San Antonio Chamber and the Metro SA Chamber have unanimously approved creating a joint committee to explore a formal partnership.

Leaders say the move could provide the region’s business community a stronger voice in decisions affecting jobs, investment and economic growth.

The two organizations are the largest regional business advocacy groups in the San Antonio area.

Their potential partnership could reshape how local employers, small businesses and civic leaders organize around major economic priorities.

“This effort is rooted in the hopes and opportunities we have for this community,” Paul Basaldua, board chair of the Metro SA Chamber, said in a news release.

Basaldua said the partnership could help the business community advocate for San Antonio while encouraging investment from small businesses and corporations, both locally and outside the region.

“Now is the time for the business community to protect the economic environment for every family in San Antonio,” said Kevin C. Dinnin, board chair of the Greater San Antonio Chamber.
