Dickinson College Head Men’s Basketball Coach Alan Seretti has made a new addition to his staff as Dominic Dunn will join the Red Devil community as the newest Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach.

Coach Seretti voiced his excitement about having Dunn join his staff stating “”We are thrilled to add Dom to our basketball program as he is a wonderful communicator, hard worker and a model of winning.  First-team All-American and multiple time conference champion as a player – and a year learning and winning under Coach Merkel at Randolph-Macon as a coach has prepared him to help Dickinson take a step forward in 2025-2026.”

Dunn arrives in Carlisle after spending one season on the Randolph-Macon College coaching staff in Ashland, Virginia. Serving as the head strength and conditioning coach, he designed and implemented a comprehensive weightlifting and injury-prevention program that bolstered the Yellow Jackets athleticism. His skill-development workouts and daily on-court sessions contributed to Randolph-Macon’s 23-5 record and an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) regular-season championship, and a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament as well as being a part of the ODAC Coaching Staff of the Year award. “Dunn in one year made a huge impact on our players and the Randolph-Macon basketball program” stated Randolph-Macon head coach Josh Merkel. “He is committed to the development of student-athletes both on and off the court. He is an outstanding communicator and helped our players improve with his consistent and relentless approach that helped him as an All-American player himself. He immersed himself in the campus and in recruiting. Coach Seretti and Dickinson have a rich basketball tradition, and they are getting an outstanding young coach who is an even better human being.  He will be missed here in Ashland for sure but we are excited for his next chapter with the Red Devils!”

As a collegiate player, Dunn demonstrated leadership and on-court excellence at two institutions. At Widener University from 2022 to 2024, he captained the Pride to consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, earning NABC First Team All-American honors in 2024 and D3hoops.com All-American selections in both 2023 and 2024. He was named MAC Conference Player of the Year, MAC Tournament MVP, and led Widener to a conference regular-season title in 2024 and the tournament crown in 2023. Dunn’s performance also garnered NABC District 5 Player of the Year and multiple all-region and academic honors, underscoring his dedication on and off the court. Widener head coach Chris Carideo offered his thoughts about Dunn joining the Red Devils staff saying “”Dominic is a winner! No other way to describe him. He inspires greatness from the people around him and will always see different ways to impact winning. Most importantly, he is an amazing person with incredible work ethic! He was a great player, an All-American, and now he will become an All-American coach and mentor. The Dickinson basketball program is in great hands with Dom as their new assistant coach!”

Prior to Widener, Dunn starred at Susquehanna University from 2018 to 2022. As a two-time NCAA Tournament participant, he captained the River Hawks and was a first-team Landmark Conference selection in 2022 after helping Susquehanna secure conference championships in 2020 and 2022. He also earned second-team all-conference recognition in 2019, providing a consistent scoring threat and defensive presence throughout his four-year career.

Dunn talked about his excitement in joining the Red Devils staff saying “I am extremely honored and thrill to be joining the Dickinson College community. Dickinson has such a rich history of success academically and athletically and I am eager to begin developing relationships with our student-athletes and supporting them throughout their college experience.”

Dunn holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Development from Widener University, earned in May 2024, and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Susquehanna University, completed in May 2022.
