ABC News’ Good Morning America visited the Dallas area as a part of its My Kind of Town series on July 30.
The morning show highlighted the Southlake location of Dallas-based chain La La Land Kind Cafe. It marked the third stop in Good Morning America’s new series focused “neighbors helping neighbors, and making a difference in their communities.”
Spearheaded by Arlington native and ABC News reporter Will Ganss, the My Kind of Town series kicked off July 28 in Detroit. Ganss visited woman-owned company Rebel Nell, which repurposes fallen graffiti into jewelry.

On Tuesday, Ganss stopped into the Twin Cities area of Minnesota to feature Shear Hope Collective, a grooming service aiding underserved communities with zero cost.
Ganss said visiting La La Land is the perfect place to “spotlight the warmth of the Texan spirit.” The cafe employs young people aging out of the foster care system and has a mission of normalizing kindness.
A roughly three-minute video featuring the cafe’s founder and CEO, Francois Reihani, embedded below, was included in the segment. It aired on Wednesday morning.
La La Land Kind Cafe was founded in 2019 and first opened on Bell Avenue in Dallas’ Lower Greenville neighborhood. The cafe has grown to include Southlake and other North Texas locations such as Addison, Fort Worth, Richardson and Plano. It has also added locations in Houston and Los Angeles.
