It’s heating up in San Antonio and so are those energy bills. But CPS Energy is here to help. Dana Sotoodeh joins us with practical tips to keep your home cool and your costs down this summer.
Green Days
These are normal usage days. Practice everyday conservation by setting your thermostat to 78F, using ceiling fans, and keeping blinds closed during peak sunlight hours.
Yellow Days
These are peak demand days, when the energy grid is under more stress. Delay using large appliances like ovens, dryers, and dishwashers until after peak hours—typically between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
How to Know the Color of the Day?
Check the daily energy status—known as Cam’s Color—on the CPS Energy website, or spot it on billboards, gas pumps, and other locations around the city.
With just a few adjustments, you can stay comfortable while keeping your energy costs in check. CPS Energy makes it easy to be smart about summer power use.
