EAST SYRACUSE, N.Y. — A product made at INFICON in East Syracuse is in the running to be named Coolest Thing Made in New York.
The statewide contest highlights innovation, creativity, and manufacturing excellence of businesses in New York State, allowing manufacturers to showcase their products.
Made in East Syracuse in 1992, the Transpector MPH is a high-tech mass spectrometer gas analyzer that identifies molecules, chemical reactions, and unseen leaks.
The instrument is designed for not only chip manufacturing, but also used on space missions, inside volcanoes, and near earthquake fault-lines.
Voting for the contest starts on July 28 and goes until Sunday, August 3, with winners advancing to the Sweet 16 and a champion being selected in September to be included on the Business’ Council statewide manufacturing tour in October.
You can vote online at the Made in NY website.
