WILLIAMSBURG — William & Mary men’s basketball earned academic honors from the Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) recently. As a team, the Tribe received the Academic Excellence Award, while five student-athletes earned a place on the Honors Court.

Keller Boothby, Nick Evans, Miles Hicks, Finn Lally, and Chase Lowe earned a place on the NABC Honors Courts thanks to their performance in the classroom. The NABC Honors Court includes junior, senior and graduate student men’s basketball players who finished the 2024-25 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs that completed the 2024-25 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. It marked program’s first Team Academic Excellence Award since 2018 for the Tribe and the fourth overall. W&M posted a 3.22 team GPA at conclusion of the 2024-25 academic year, including a 3.36 during the spring semester.

The NABC’s academic awards are presented annually to teams and athletes from all levels of college basketball.

Over 2,400 players earned spots on the NABC Honors Court and nearly 400 programs received NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards for 2024-25. W&M was one of 100 Division I programs to earn the honor. In its first season under Earl, the Tribe enjoyed one of the top turnarounds in the country, finishing with a 17-15 record. The 17 wins rank 12th in program history, while the program produced 11 CAA wins for just the fifth time. W&M debuted a new style of play featuring a fast-paced tempo. The Green and Gold ranked among the national leaders in tempo, 3-point shooting, scoring, and assists.
