Kids who weren’t even born when Korn formed will pack the park. Can’t make it to the party? Catch one of the dozens of aftershows at venues across the city. Read our our top 10 tips for attending, as well as Britt Julious’ critic’s picks by day through Sunday.

Fiesta del Sol

Now in its 53rd year, Pilsen’s Fiesta del Sol shines even brighter as the festival celebrates the city’s Latino community. In addition to the usual fun — music, rides, games, arts, food, kids activities (including Chicago Stars youth soccer drills) — the fiesta features a series of expos centered on social justice issues. This year’s Citizenship & Immigration Expo provides free consultations with attorneys, nonprofit resources and “know your rights” training. Proceeds from the event support the Guadalupe A. Reyes Fiesta del Sol Scholarship for Latino students from Chicago’s Southwest Side.

You might remember the plot: Characters played by Julia Roberts and Dermot Mulroney had made a pact to marry if they hadn’t already by age 28, but Mulroney ends up proposing to Cameron Diaz just before the deadline. Spinsters at 28! And now the film itself is 28 years old. Watch the classic rom-com unfold against a scenic Chicago backdrop as you watch from a scenic Chicago locale.
