Houston Restaurant Weeks officially kicks off on Friday, August 1 running through Labor Day Monday, September 1. The Houston Food Bank’s epic annual fundraiser invites restaurants across the city to multi-course menus fo dinner ($39 or 55), lunch ($25) and brunch ($25), with a $1 to $5 donation to the Houston Food Bank and its efforts to fight hunger across the region. This year’s restaurant list is now live, featuring featuring exciting newcomers like Barbacana and Okto, plus returning favorites from Pondicheri to longtime gem Rainbow Lodge.

Starting Friday, August 1, Craft Pita introduces full-service dinner on weekends at both its Fountainview and West University locations. Available Friday through Sunday evenings, the new service debuts alongside a $39 five-course prix fixe menu for Houston Restaurant Weeks, spotlighting Craft Pita’s signature Mediterranean flavors. Chef Jason Gould is turning up the heat at Common Bond Bistro & Bakery with two limited-time smash burgers available at all five locations. Try the fiery High Heat Smash Burger with smoked queso, roasted poblanos, and ghost pepper aioli; or go classic with the Smothered & Covered, stacked with grilled onions and cheddar. Both come with fries and are $14.99 each — available now through the end of August.

Heights Bier Garten, 1433 North Shepherd, is once again getting down on the White Linen Night festivities this Saturday, August 2, with live music from 6 to 10 p.m., a Best Dressed Contest, and featured sips from Herradura Tequila and Gin Mare.
