Fredericksburg’s most anticipated new development, The Meuse, is taking shape with the signing of its first two tenants. The 73,000 square foot retail and dining destination will welcome luxury bootmaker Lucchese and bottle shop and bar Padre’s Wine Company when it opens in 2027.
The ambitious, multimillion-dollar project, developed by Houston-based DC Partners, is currently being constructed at the intersection of US 290 and US 87. The real estate firm previously announced that a ritzy Kimpton hotel with a full-service restaurant and bar would anchor the pad sites.
Lucchese Bootmaker, founded by Italian immigrant Salvatore Lucchese in 1883, has become synonymous with premium handcrafted cowboy boots and timeless Western wear. The brand has outfitted legends of the American West and even former presidents for over 140 years. At The Meuse, Lucchese will open a 3,400 square foot boutique that suits Fredericksburg’s frontier spirit.
“Lucchese has always been deeply committed to strengthening our ties and reach in Texas, and The Meuse allows Lucchese to further expand our footprint in an elevated and inspiring way. We’re proud to bring our craftsmanship and heritage to Fredericksburg through a space that reflects the beauty of the Hill Country and the timeless values our brand was built on,” said Angela Hahn, Vice President of Retail Operations for Lucchese, in a press release.

Joining the upscale brand is Padre’s Wine Company, a new outpost of a Houston-based wine bar and shop. The concept was inspired by cofounder William Farley’s father, Mike Farley, affectionately known as Padre. The 3,000 square foot space will feature retail wine up front and a dining space and patio tucked in the back, offering guests a relaxed but refined place to sip and savor.
“Growing up, I spent summers with my family in the Hill Country, and it is an honor to bring Padre’s to Fredericksburg, the home of countless great family memories. Rooted in values of sustainability, family, and joie de vivre, the Padre’s experience is as much about people and storytelling as it is about great wine,” said William Farley in the release.
Fredericksburg is in the middle of a construction boom that is set to transform the once-sleepy Hill Country tourist destination. Among the new projects underway are The Sycamore, which is headlined by a new Salt Lick BBQ restaurant. The Albert Hotel, which brought luxury lodging and chef-driven fare to the historic core of the town, opened in January.
