SAN ANTONIO – A man who was charged with murder of a 47-year-old man in his driveway near Bristol Avenue has been identified.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the convicted felon as Frank Martinez, 24, on Monday. The victim was also identified as 47-year-old Michael Woodyard, the boyfriend of Martinez’s mother.
Fire and EMS officials were dispatched around 8:25 a.m. to a residence located at 505 Bristol Avenue. Police say when they arrived on scene, they found Woodyard lying in front of the home, with multiple gunshot wounds to his back and head.

Woodyard’s girlfriend told police her son may have gotten angry with Woodyard because he believed the man was physically abusing her and his daughter, which Woodyard denied.
She tried to warn Woodyard that her son was on his way to the home and advised him to leave. It’s unclear if Woodyard attempted to flee before the confrontation.
Martinez then pulled up to the home in a dark colored SUV and may have confronted Woodyard in the driveway, where he was shot. Woodyard was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have arrested Martinez and he has been charged with murder.
