Localized flooding hazards are possible in the next three days
Friday forecast
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Temperatures are forecast to climb to near-record values Friday, with highs around 98 degrees in the area by afternoon. Hourly outlooks from show temperatures reaching 97 degrees between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., running well above the seasonal average of 92 degrees. Chances of rain are slim as the east coast sea breeze stays pinned to the beaches. There’s a moderate rip current risk on Friday.
The heat wave continues on Friday after Jacksonville recorded 99 degrees on Thursday.
Widespread rain forecast to move in over the weekend
Widespread rain is forecast to develop Saturday and continue into Sunday, with some locally heavy downpours possible. Localized flooding is a risk for Sunday, mostly in Southeast Georgia.
