LINCOLN – Nebraska got the last official visit from one of the nation’s top cornerback prospects, and it helped seal the deal for a cornerstone member of NU’s 2026 recruiting class.

Orlando (FL) First Academy defensive back Danny Odem announced his commitment to Nebraska football on Monday as he chose the Huskers over offers from Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Penn State.

“The relationships and the coaching staff made Nebrasak (home),” Odem said in a livestream from his commitment ceremony. “I feel like they’re about to build something special.”

Odem’s connection with the Huskers came about through first-year defensive backs coach Addison Williams, who began recruiting the Floridian prospect during his time at UCF.

Once Williams arrived in Lincoln, the four-star cornerback quickly rose up NU’s 2026 recruiting board.

Odem was a participant in the program’s elite junior day this winter and soon after scheduled his return visit for June.

Stellar trips to Ohio State and Oklahoma nearly led to Odem landing elsewhere, but his visit to Lincoln over the weekend secured a Husker pledge in the end.

In Odem, Nebraska is getting a high-level cornerback prospect whose athleticism and play-making ability stand out on film.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound recruit is still developing physically and has the makings of a top cornerback with an eye for making plays on the football.

Landing Odem is also a key development for a 2026 Husker recruiting class which contains seven members overall. Odem is te first defensive back commit in the group.
