A new six-week market series hosting local artisans and food vendors is coming to Santa Cruz every Thursday evening starting later this month.
The event series, Sunset Market, will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. from Aug. 14 to Sept. 18. It is being hosted by the Downtown Association of Santa Cruz, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the economic health of downtown Santa Cruz.
The markets will be located in the heart of downtown, at Lot 16 and Church Street, between Cedar and Center streets.
Local cafes and restaurants, such as Dani O Bakeshop, Melrose Cafe, Mariposa Coffee Bar, and Shaka’s Chicken & Waffles, will be among the many food vendors. Local brewers, including Sante Adarius and Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing, along with winery Birichino, will also participate.
Each evening will feature performances by local entertainers, including Fire Peach, Surf City Line Dancing, and Papiba & Friends, along with free activities and other non-food and drink vendors.
This event series is sponsored by the Economic Development Department of the City of Santa Cruz, West Coast County Bank, and realtor Loren Morse.
Local businesses and vendors can sign up until space runs out at the vendor registration site.
