1. Boerne resident wins $5 million playing the $400 Million Mega Bucks game

Someone in the San Antonio area just hit it big playing the Texas Lottery’s $400 Million Mega Bucks game. 

The Boerne resident, who chose to remain anonymous, won $5 million.

2. First Democrat enters race for U.S. Senate in Texas

Terry Virts, a former astronaut and Air Force colonel, has entered the race for U.S. Senate in Texas as a Democrat. 

Virts announced his candidacy on Monday, making him the first Democrat to join the race. In a video posted on X, Virts — who was dressed in an astronaut jumpsuit — said “it’s time for change” and he was “ready for his next mission.”

3. Supreme Court to issue major rulings in the coming days that could impact Texas

In the next few days, the U.S. Supreme Court will issue key rulings with significant impacts across the nation, including Texas. 

One decision still on the docket is the Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton case. This decision will decide if Texas’ law requiring age verification for websites with adult content is constitutional.
