JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left two people dead on the 15000 block of Sawpit Road.

Officers responded around 10 p.m. Friday and found an unidentified white man and woman, both in their 50s, shot and unresponsive on a dirt road.

Jacksonville Fire Rescue pronounced both victims dead at the scene.

Detectives from the JSO Homicide and Crime Scene units are leading the investigation.

Several people have been detained and taken to the Police Memorial Building for interviews. Authorities have not yet determined the circumstances or relationships involved.

JSO says the shooting appears to be isolated, with no ongoing threat to the community.
