White Castle chose Chicago as the launching ground their new robotic delivery venture, the company announced this week.
Through a partnership with the world’s leading urban robot delivery platform, Coco Robotics, White Castle is launching their first deployment of robotic delivery after over 100 years slinging sliders.
White Castle on Chicago’s Near West Side, located at 2356 West Roosevelt Road, is White Castle’s first location to offer robotic delivery.
The information page on Uber Eats for the White Castle on Chicago’s Near West Side now advertises to customers that the store “uses autonomous vehicles for some deliveries.”
“White Castle is honored to partner with CoCo and Uber Eats on a new autonomous delivery system,” White Castle Vice President Jamie Richardson said in a statement. “As a family owned business for over 104 years we’ve learned consumers crave what’s next to make their lives easier — CoCo is it!”
Coco’s delivery robots are zero-emission and White Castle is hoping their integration helps “streamline fulfillment, reduce parking lot congestion, and get food to customers faster – all without compromising quality or service,” the announcement said.
When a Coco robot arrives with an order, customers receive an alert to meet it outside and can unlock the lid via the app.
Coco’s robots have roamed Chicago’s streets since 2024, providing delivery services for other eateries around the Windy City.
The AI-powered robots are designed for “dense, urban environments” and have “proven themselves across snow, slush, and cracked sidewalks,” the announcement said.
