Welcome to Plathville star Lydia Plath issued a direct response to rumors about her husband Zac Wyse‘s sexuality after they decided to save their first kiss for their wedding day.
In Season 7 of the TLC series, Lydia introduced her boyfriend; they soon got engaged just a few months after meeting. She explained they had not kissed, as they wanted their first time to be at the altar after saying, “I do.”
The lack of physical affection before marriage, coupled with a comment from Lydia’s brother, Ethan Plath—who bluntly stated, “I think he’s gay,” on the show—prompted speculation from fans on social media.
However, Lydia recently clapped back at the rumors about herself and Zac in an Aug. 1 Instagram post.
“Yes! We saved our FIRST KISS for our wedding day!😘,” she captioned a carousel of photos of herself and Zac kissing as a married couple. “It’s really saddening to see how that is taken such the wrong way in this day and age. Instead of people seeing how honoring and selfless that was of my husband, they assume we just weren’t attracted to each other. QUITE THE OPPOSITE!”
Lydia continued, “It had secretly been something I had desired, but I wanted the man to bring it up by the Holy Spirits leading and not me putting rules on by my own strength. To my surprise within one week of dating, Zac brings it up! It had never even crossed his mind till he met me.”
To conclude her post, she explained, “‘There is just a purity about you that I want to protect’ Zac said.🥹🤍 The waiting was worth it! And now that we’re married, trust me, we’re making up for lost time!😘 This man loves me in such a beautiful, pure way that I didn’t even know existed!❤️🥹 Love you so much @zaclwyse.”
Lydia and Zac married on Feb. 22, 2025, on her family’s Georgia farm.
