Lower Swatara Township Police say Lamont Harris, formerly of Middletown, has been arrested in New York.According to police, the warrant was issued for cruelty to animals from an incident in November 2013.Harris was taken into custody by authorities in New York after being flagged for his warrant on a flight from the Caribbean to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.Harris is awaiting extradition back to Pennsylvania.According to Lower Swatara Township Police, they received a call on November 11, 2013, about a dog that was found bound and dumped in the Swatara Creek near the Vine Street Bridge.Police say the dog was rescued by nearby construction workers, taken to a nearby veterinary hospital, where it was determined the dog had suffered numerous injuries.During the investigation, Harris was identified as the suspect and charged with two counts of animal cruelty.
