A Hollywood homeowner stopped a possible attempted break-in at their home by holding the would-be trespasser at gunpoint early Saturday.

Law enforcement received a call of an attempted burglary around 1:30 a.m. at a home in the Hollywood Hills, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. There, the resident of the home was holding a man at gunpoint on their patio. A neighbor also responded with a shotgun and helped until officials arrived.

The man who was held at gunpoint was detained by officers for trespassing. He was later released without charges, police said.

LAPD did not identify the man suspected of trying to break into the home.
