A man believed to be in his early 60s was killed when he was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run in the West Adams area of Los Angeles.

The crash occurred at about 9:15 p.m. Sunday at La Brea Avenue and Adams Boulevard, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.

The vehicle was northbound on La Brea Avenue when it struck the man who was walking outside of the crosswalk and the driver fled in the vehicle, the officer told CNS. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, they added.
