FAYETTE COUNTY, Texas — A 25-year-old San Antonio woman was arrested early Saturday after leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase along I-10 in Fayette County.
Jasmine Nicole Ybarra faces charges of evading arrest with a vehicle, delivery of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance following the pursuit that began around 2:31 a.m., according to Sheriff Keith Korenek.

A deputy initially attempted to stop a black Mercedes for a traffic violation when the driver turned off the vehicle’s lights and fled at speeds exceeding 100 mph, Korenek said.
The chase continued westbound on I-10 until a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper successfully deployed spike strips at mile marker 628, bringing the pursuit to an end.
During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered 8.7 ounces of marijuana, 123 grams of promethazine, 89 grams of codeine and a large quantity of clear plastic baggies commonly used for drug distribution in the driver’s door, the sheriff’s office said on Facebook.
A male passenger in the vehicle was also detained.
Both suspects were taken to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center, where Ybarra was booked into jail. The passenger was released but could face charges pending further investigation.
