CRYSTAL LAKE, Wis. (Northern News Now) – According to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, the bear that has had its head stuck in a jar is now free.
The Chequamegon Humane Association received a call on Sunday night, July 28, about a black bear in Bayfield County near Lake Namakagon with a jar stuck on its head.
The 2-year-old female bear was spotted in a Crystal Lake resident’s yard outside of Cable on Sunday morning, where they promptly called the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

USDA Wildlife Services Staff arrived on the scene, tranquilized the bear, cut off and removed the jar.
According to the Wisconsin DNR, the bear was relocated for its own safety and released in the woods where there will be ample natural food and water this time of year.
