Thunderstorms at the beginning of the week brought over an inch of rain to Dallas, but the skies are clearing for dry, hot days ahead.
Mostly clear skies are forecasted each day of the week, with the high expected to rise back to seasonable heights by mid-week. The National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office reported maximum temperatures in the low 90s Sunday and Monday, but forecasted a high of 95 for Tuesday.
The heat index, which represents how the temperature feels to the human body, is predicted to hit 103 on Tuesday and is expected to climb even higher later in the week. That significant increase is caused by high levels of humidity in the air, which makes it more difficult for the body to cool itself through sweating.
Temperatures are currently forecasted to peak at 99 degrees at the end of the week, but another triple-digit day may be possible.
