SAN ANTONIO — Authorities are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect responsible for the shooting murder of 20-year-old Brandon Caldwell.
Police say the murder happened around 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023 at The Ivy Apartments, located at 4550 Lavender Lane on the city’s West Side.
Investigators say Caldwell arrived at the complex that day to get in contact with his ex-girlfriend. After parking his van in a small lot, Caldwell confronted the woman’s current boyfriend, leading to a minor physical altercation, police said.
Following the confrontation, Caldwell returned to the apartment area to search for jewelry he lost during the fight. As he walked back to his van, an unknown shooter fired multiple shots from the side of the apartment building closest to the vehicle. Caldwell was pronounced dead at the scene.
