JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County — Doris Avenue in Jacksonville will be fully closed to traffic on Tuesday, August 5, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., as crews work to repair a stormwater pipe near 315 Doris Avenue. This is an update from the original advisory, which previously announced a single-lane closure. The full closure is necessary due to repair circumstances and to ensure the safety of both workers and drivers.

All traffic will be detoured using Clyde Drive to Fenton Street, then onto Vernon Avenue, and back to Doris Avenue. Detour signs will be clearly posted to help guide drivers through the alternate route. Residents who live within the affected area will still have access to their homes, although some delays may occur.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, follow all posted detours, and use extra caution in the area. Please give crews plenty of room to work safely and efficiently. Weather permitting, the work is expected to be completed by 4:00 p.m. on the same day. Further updates will be provided as needed.
