PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Police say the Valley man accused of a violent kidnapping is now back behind bars this week.
Phoenix police confirmed to Arizona’s Family that Timothy James Wood was arrested Monday on a felony grand jury warrant related to a case where he reportedly locked his girlfriend in a shed for two weeks while he tormented her.
Jail records obtained Monday evening indicate that he was indicted on five charges, including kidnapping, aggravated assault, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
“We’re relieved and thankful that charges have finally been officially filed,” the victim’s family said, upon learning of Wood’s arrest.
Last week, the department resubmitted charges against Wood after prosecutors requested additional evidence from detectives related to the case.
Wood’s release from jail drew scrutiny from the woman who claimed to be one of his victims and her family.
Before charges were resubmitted, Arizona’s Family reporter Sarah Robinson talked to Wood. She reported that he was very defensive and said he would plan to file a lawsuit against everyone involved.
