CHICAGO — More than 50 Texas Democrats who left the state to prevent a vote on a redistricting bill have until Friday to return, according to House Speaker Dustin Burrows.

If they fail to return by the deadline, Attorney General Ken Paxton said he will declare their seats vacant.

President Trump has called for the FBI to be involved in locating and arresting the lawmakers. He stated that Republicans “deserve” to redraw the Texas electoral map and are “entitled to five more seats.”

Fox San Antonio’s Yami Virgin, currently in Chicago, spoke with some of the lawmakers who left Texas to break quorum.
