After hitting 100 degrees last week, many North Texans may be wondering how many more times triple-digits will make an appearance in the forecast.

The triple-digit milestone was significantly delayed this summer and didn’t arrive until July 29. The following two days also crossed the 100-degree threshold before a colder air mass and storms helped bring temperatures back down in Dallas-Fort Worth over the weekend.

Those rainclouds have left, and the temperature is expected to rise for the rest of the week, according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office. Wednesday has a forecast high of 97 degrees, a significant increase from the recorded highs in the lower 90s at the start of the week.

The temperature is expected to peak in a similar spot on Thursday, but Friday may turn out to be the fourth triple-digit day of the year. The temperature in the metro area is expected to hit 100 that day, with a “feels like” temperature of 103.
