Summertime is on the wane, most definitely and indubitoubly, which means we’ve got to start folding in the classic summertime pursuits, pronto.
One of the major pastimes of the season is a sweet treat that is on the cooler side, the sort of confection that is made for savoring in a scenic outdoor space among other summer fans.

The Gelato Festival World Masters is returning to bring some piazza-style pleasures to the palates of Southern California, with gelato tastings that are buono and bright.
The two-day spoons-and-cones showdown will pop up at Ovation Hollywood Aug. 30 and 31, with “the best artisanal craftsmanship in the country” on delicious display.
A bevy of gelato-creating pros will be at the Tinseltown to-do, along with “interactive gelato tastings” and gelato-making demonstrations, if you want to try the old and cold art form at home.
