LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — The Arkansas Department of Commerce and the Bureau of Labor Statistics released Arkansas’s unemployment rate for the month of May.

The rate remained stable at 3.7% from April through May, while the United States’ unemployment rate also stayed steady at 4.2%.

Compared to May 2024, there are 12,386 more people employed in the state.

The number of unemployed Arkansans actively seeking work is up to 4,701, pushing the unemployment rate up two-tenths of a percentage point over the year.

Arkansas’s nonfarm payroll jobs rose to 3,400 in May, notching a new record high of 1,388,500 jobs.
