A woman’s at-home pilates workout took a wrong turn resulting in a head injury.

Aspiring influencer Annabelle Rose, 32, shares videos of outfits, motherhood and more on social media regularly. In a July 14 Instagram video, she showed her followers the aftermath of falling face-forward while on a steel reformer Pilates bench.

“A very humbling experience and one from which we shall learn: collectively,” Rose wrote as the caption to her initial post.

In the video, the mother has a camera set up as she does an at-home exercise, noting to one of her followers that it helps her to improve her form when she’s able to look back on her workouts.

The sped-up clip showed Rose breezing through her routine before she lost her balance, fell forward and hit her head.

PEOPLE did not immediately receive a response from Rose.

“I’d like to caveat this with it was absolutely MY fault. I didn’t change the resistance. I was at the end of a fantastic workout and one that I’ve done many times before. I got complacent and just left the resistance low from the previous move,” she wrote.

The footage showed a visible gash in her forehead.

Rose added that although she didn’t want to go to the hospital, her bleeding continued for six hours, so she decided to see a doctor. Her trip to urgent care was also included in the video.

“Who knew Pilates Reformer could be a contact sport hey,” she concluded, with several laughing emojis.

She later said she was healing from “a concussion with damage to my prefrontal cortex,” adding that her injury happened in part of the brain “that controls memory, focus, decision-making, and executive function.”

In a July 21 video, she shared several updates about what she’s learned since “damaging my face on a reformer Pilates bench and posting about it online.” The top lesson being that “concussion ain’t for the weak.”

Rose’s post was a clip of her husband helping her to wash her hair in their bathroom as she sat on the floor with her neck resting on the rim of their bathtub. She called his help his “green flag,” saying she’s not allowed to get her forehead wet due to her injury.

She also said others who do pilates have been “super thankful” that she posted her mishap so they could learn from her mistake.
