The actor mused:

I was at a bar one day, moping about losing Phyllis [Michelle Stafford/Gina Tognoni], or I don’t know what. And Michael Baldwin’s [Christian LeBlanc] mother [Gloria, Judith Chapman] sat at the bar next to me, and before we knew it, we were drinking too much and playing bar games, and I just kissed her.

Needless to say, Jack smooching his ex-stepmom (whom he hated for years) wasn’t something Bergman expected. He went on:

And I read that in the script and I thought, What? And it turned into months of great fun with Judith. Yeah, it was great fun.
