County’s 1933 General Hospital before it begins its exciting transformation into housing—including affordable housing—through adaptive reuse. For decades, this hospital has provided care and community to Angelenos across the county. Now, as it prepares for a new life, we’re opening its doors and upper floors for a glimpse into areas rarely seen by the public, including one of the hospital’s historic surgery theatres and the county prison hospital—both left virtually untouched since the hospital’s closure nearly two decades ago.
This guided tour offers a unique opportunity to discover the building’s architectural details, hear stories from its past, and learn more about the plans that will give this historic site a bold new purpose.
