ALBANY, NY (WRGB) — The state Division of Veteran Services has released a survey to gather feedback from female veterans in New York.
The survey is framed around the everyday challenges that veterans or anyone faces.
Questions range from employment, housing, mental health, education, and more.
Any female veteran can take part in the survey- it’s open until the end of the year and takes a few minutes.
The results will then be used to guide policy and resources in the future.
“We don’t want to assume or generalize about the needs of women veterans in New York State. We certainly don’t believe in swooping into communities and telling them what it is that they need,” said Dr. Lessie Branch, Special Assistant for Community Engagement. “So in that regard, the survey empowers women who have served to engage and tell us in their own voice what their needs are around well-being and some of the needs we hope to learn about.”
The survey is conducted in partnership with the New York Women Veterans Advisory Committee.
