Two coyote pups riddled with mange were rescued from a concrete culvert in a northern Chicago suburb this week.
The pups were found sheltering in the concrete culvert in Northbrook, area police said in a Facebook post.
They were safety captured and transported to Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation, thanks to a combined effort from Animal Control, Northbrook Public Works and the Northbrook Fire Department.
The pups are “settling in well,” police said. “They’ve been eating and are now starting treatment.”

“Moments like these are a reminder of what’s possible when people come together to help those who can’t help themselves,” Northbrook police said in their Facebook caption.
Concrete culverts are large tubes that typically assist with flow of water under roads and railways.
