CONVERSE – Police have arrested a man and a girl on drug possession charges.
On the morning of August 7, Converse Police officers conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of a 40-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl.
The pair was charged with possession of controlled substances from Penalty Group 1 and Penalty Group 2, as well as possession of tobacco and drug paraphernalia.
The Converse Police Department highlighted the importance of proactive policing in keeping dangerous drugs and tobacco off the streets, thereby preventing them from potentially reaching schools and youth.
Under Texas Education Code 37.006 and 37.007, students found in possession or using controlled substances, alcohol, or tobacco products on school property or during school-related activities can face mandatory disciplinary actions, including removal from class or expulsion.
