PHOENIX β€” The Arizona Department of Transportation has good news for Valley drivers: No freeway closures are planned this weekend.

However, ADOT’s Weekend Freeway Travel Advisory for Aug. 8-11 does say that a few ramps in the East and West Valley will close.

The ramp that will be closed the longest over the weekend will be the off-ramp from the westbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway to Arizona Avenue in Chandler.

That will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge work.

ADOT advises drivers to get off the freeway at either McQueen or Alma School roads to avoid this closure.

In north Phoenix, the ramp from the eastbound Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway to north- and southbound Interstate 17 will close from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday due to construction.

During this closure, drivers should exit Loop 101 at 35th Avenue and then use either Deer Valley Road or Union Hills Drive to reach I-17.

Finally, in Scottsdale, Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard will close in both directions at the Loop 101 Pima Freeway from 9 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday for bridge work.

Drivers will be detoured onto the Loop 101 frontage roads during this closure, according to ADOT.

Are there any other weekend closures of note?

Several other ramps are already closed due to freeway widening projects.

The westbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway off-ramp at Price Road in Chandler is closed and is expected to reopen in late September.

The westbound Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway off-ramp at 67th Avenue in Glendale is also closed and is expected to open in early October.

The eastbound Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway off-ramp at 27th Avenue in Phoenix is closed, as well, and is scheduled to open in late September.
