The Ground goes BOTLD

Philadelphia’s Parisian-inspired café is popping up in Midtown Village.

The Ground, known for its vibrant locations in Rittenhouse and Norris Square, is bringing its signature coffee, pastries and plant-filled vibes to BOTLD Midtown at 117 South 13th Street.

Running through Labor Day, this limited-time summer residency will pop up seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The menu will feature expertly brewed cold brew, iced latte, matcha latte and chaga (mushroom) matcha, plus crowd pleasers like Rose Pistachio and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Add-ons will include orange creamsicle, strawberry and chocolate cold foams, plus flavor shots and plant-based milk options. For food, look for fresh baked French pastries, including croissants, almond croissants, beignet, vanilla beignets, cinnamon rolls, coffee cake, leek and parm and spinach feta.

“We’re thrilled to bring The Ground’s daytime magic to BOTLD’s welcoming space on 13th Street,” said The Ground Co-Founder Michelle Miller. “This pop-up is more than just coffee. It’s a celebration of collaboration, community and the joy of slowing down with something beautiful in hand.”

The Ground and BOTLD teams have also collaborated on the debut of three new caffeinated cocktails, including Rose-Hey (with Pa’Lante botanical rum), Yuz Too Matcha (with St. George Gin) and Caffeine Rush (with J. Rieger Vodka and Caffe Amaro). BOTLD will continue to operate this and all locations with their standard offerings during normal hours; and The Ground Rittenhouse and The Ground Coffee, Plants and Gifts (Norris Square) will continue to also operate normal days and times during this pop-up.

“Great spirits and great coffee both reflect a love of craft,” added BOTLD founder Andrew Auwerda. “As neighbors in Rittenhouse, we’ve long admired what The Ground has built. This partnership energizes our mornings, offers something fresh for Midtown Village, and opens the door for future collaboration.”

Doors open each month at 6 p.m., with bingo starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale for $50 each and are being sold through a new website at actionwellness.org/special-events.

“We are so thrilled to celebrate the 30th anniversary of GayBINGO!,” said Action Wellness Executive Director Mary Evelyn Torres. “This year signifies a remarkable milestone celebrating three decades of supporting individuals living with HIV, while providing a fun and inclusive atmosphere for all participants.

“Over this past year, I’ve had the privilege of meeting longtime attendees who have been part of this event for years, even decades, as well as first-time guests who had always wanted to experience the magic for themselves. It’s truly inspiring to witness our community come together — month after month — in celebration, solidarity, and support. We are especially thankful to the BVDs and other great volunteers, our fabulous hostess Carlotta Ttendant and our incredible sponsors. There’s no greater feeling than seeing the joy, the laughter, the incredible talent, and the unwavering dedication that fills the room every month. We are deeply honored to continue this legacy. But our work is far from over. Now more than ever, we need the public’s support as we continue to serve and uplift those in our community living with HIV.”
