SAN ANTONIO – A local sports institution is helping the community start off the school year right!

Between 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Spurs Sports and Entertainment hosted its Back to School Bash at Frost Bank Center.

Parents, students, and teachers were invited to receive free school supplies and resources, courtesy of the organization.

Local organizations, businesses, nonprofits, and school districts came together to offer a wide array of free resources and services, including free school supplies for K-12 students, vision checks, dental screenings, haircuts, and information booths for school enrollment, extracurricular activities, and mental health support.

“San Antonio is a city rich with people and organizations who care deeply about our students, families, and educators,” said Patricia Mejia, Chief Impact Officer at SS&E. “Back to School Bash is a reflection of what’s possible when a community comes together to lift each other up. It’s a reminder that we all have a role to play in helping our young people thrive.”

In the four years since it launched, the Back to School Bash has drawn over 11,500 attendees, providing over 1,300 health screenings, 800 dental screenings, and free school supplies to over 12,000 children.
